| 1.Direct
A direct severe blow to face can result in serious trauma such as concussion, broken teeth, gum damage, or a broken jaw
2.Indirect
A blow to the lower jaw pushes the lower teeth upwards, bringing them into contact with the upper teeth. Significant damage can be incurred, spreading to other teeth and jaw. Energy from the blow is transferred though the entire biting plane. Concussion is also a common condition resulting from an indirect blow to the jaw.
